Who we are and what we do
The Centre and Bunkhouse is run by a small group of volunteers who are keen to see that it remains an important resource for people of all ages to use, experience, enjoy and appreciate all it and the outdoors has to offer, in a safe but sometimes challenging environment.
Herefordshire Outdoor Trust's manifesto is "To promote the use of the outdoors for the benefit of the general public, in particular but not exclusively for children and young people to develop their physical, mental and spiritual capabilities."
Stuart McFarlane – Chair of Herefordshire Outdoor Trust - Qualified Youth & Community Worker, Sub postmaster (Post Office) and shop proprietor (sole trader) from 1998 to 2010, Mountain walking Leadership Training Board (Summer), Mountain biking Instructor Award Scheme Level 2, British CyclingCoach Level 2, British Gymnastics (Trampoline) Coach Level 2, Herefordshire Outdoor Trust Trustee from 2004 to date and Chairperson from 2011, Herefordshire Expedition Group Trustee from 2008 to date, Wellington Charities Trustee from 2000 to date and Treasurer from 2005. Hazel Preedy – Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Member of the National Trust, keen gardener and cook, worked at AKI on the Rotherwas (Skylon) industrial estate for over 30 years as a print setter, friend of Dinedor for over 10 years, trustee for over 5 years. Trustee
Andy Preedy – Semi – retired, former assistant Youth Service manager Herefordshire Council, former Duke of Edinburgh’s Award manager for Herefordshire, Managed Dinedor Outdoor Centre for Herefordshire council 1996 – 2004, involved with centre for over 30 years, Qualified Youth & Community Worker, Mountain Leader (Summer), past member of Longtown Mountain rescue team ( 1999 – 2009), Mountain bike Instructor Level 2, co founder Herefordshire Expedition Group, Expedition leader to Borneo 2007, Thailand 2012 and Nepal 2014 , Bush Craft practioneer.
